Big Day – Items Delivered For Signatures May 2015 Show April 22, 2015

Posted by myblueheavenknits in Uncategorized.

I have been hand and machine knitting like a woman possessed to complete all the ensembles I intended to deliver today for the “rack and stack” at the Palos Verdes Art Center.  All the other fiber artists were represented, although some were not there in person.  Gabrielle, the show manager, never knows what we are all going to bring, so it is a major job to sort through all the garments, pick out the sizes for the 18 different models (not present today), and get a show pieced together that is cohesive.  Jewelry will be added by several of our artisans tomorrow to make a complete outfit.  Then, the models come on Friday and tweeks are done so that everything is presented on the best figure for the ensemble.  All my items have been included and here is a sneak peek of a couple of them below.  Our theme for this Signatures is “The Grand Tour”, so I have made outfits for the Greek Isles, Rome, The Blue Grotto in Italy, Berlin, Paris, the German Alps, Vienna, Athens and the French Riviera.

Here is a lace dress and shawl with abalone button trimmed shawlette which reflects my vision of Vienna.

The next one is reminiscent of a Roman Sunset.

Signatures is May 2, 2015 at the Palos Verdes Art Center from noon to 3.  Tickets are available and include a champagne lunch, music, dancing – and oh yes, the fashion show.  All the items are one of a kind and can be purchased after the show. For tickets, call the Artist’s Studio, 1-424-206-9902.  It will be a fun afternoon.

Love your inspirational designs for the show!

Thanks so much. I did one green zippered jacket, 3 two-piece outfits and 7 three-piece ensembles. Whew!! I have to finish
a long skirt and one Cutie Pie Top and I will be done for the show. My husband will be taking pictures, so I will post them
when I can. I am trying to demonstrate to everyone that knitting is not just hats, scarves and hand warmers. Yes, we need those,
but shawls, skirts, pants, dresses, jackets, coats – those need to be in our wardrobes too. There are so many wonderful yarns
coming out now, knits can be made for every season and be comfortable. Keep on knitting!!

They´re really awesome! I absolutely love the red sunset one, but love the lace on the arms of the Vienna, too!
I could only imagine HOW sore your arms are – but it was worth it!

Thank you so much!!
