So What Did You Do This Weekend? December 1, 2013

Playing around with hand knit Wig Hats was my “thang”.  Now I’m off to try different colors and see what other mischief I can get myself into!

I gotta have the wig pattern!! Is it available? GREAT stocking stuffers for my cold weather friends. Please let me know if you are sharing/selling pattern. Carolyn

I was surfing for a Wig Hat and found this on Knitty:

I used one skein of Red Heart Soft yarn (5oz.)and added to the pattern 10 rows at the bottom in Stockinette for the “Flip”, but had a little left over, so I knit a 4st I-Cord and did some embellishment across the front and sides. Can’t waste yarn you know! I will put a picture up as soon as I can of my finished hat.

Hi Penny! I am taking a break from the wonderful craft show treadmill and can look forward to Spring and setting up my 2014 shows. I embellished that red hat with a 72″ I-Cord, giving the hat some curly-Qs across the temples and bangs. It turned out so well, I put it the Palos Verdes Art Center Boutique, where I am a fiber artist. It sold right away, so I don’t even have a picture of the final hat! Oh, well, I have a fuchsia one there now, and I am finishing a turquoise one today that I will bring up there later on this week. Since they are handknit, they take quite some time to do and are therefore pricey. After all the work that goes into them, I can’t give them away at my usual craft show prices. I am planning on doing a black and a brown one, maybe a blonde too, but its the wild colors that are totally avant garde.
